How to Repair a Damaged Corner?
Outer corners are often exposed to damages. In this video we show you how to fix one easily using aluminum angle bead for external corners and ready-to-use joint compound.
Here are the steps we followed:
First, the old corner should be dismantled with a joint knife. Then we proceed to leveling the base and smoothing any unevenness with the joint knife.
For the new corner we use Premium aluminum angle bead. We measure the height of the wall and crop the angle bead accordingly. For easier installation we shape its edges at an angle of 45 degrees.
We then apply a layer of FUGA & FINISH along the entire length of the wall in order to fix the angle bead easily and to smooth the irregularities even better. If necessary, we can use a level.
Once the angle bead is secured, we can proceed to plastering the wall. For greater strength of the corner and better protection from cracks, we recommend placing glass-fibre joint tape between the strip and the wall.
Finally, we smooth the wall with a layer of FUGA & FINISH.
