How to Construct a Window Opening and Install a Window in a Partition Wall?

In this article we explain how to construct a window opening with CW and UW profiles and how to install the window in a partition wall.

Tools and products you need:

  • Premium Profile CW
  • Premium Profile UW
  • Titan Screw
  • Tape Measure
  • Tin Snips
  • Drywall Screwdriver
  • Level
  • PU Foam

We start by cutting two Premium profiles CW 75 and inserting the into the two vertical sides of the opening in the partition wall. Then we fix them to both sides of the wall using Titan screw.

We measure two UW profiles and cut their ends at a 45-degree angle to create a stronger connection when fixed to the partition wall. We mount them to the horizontal sides of the opening and fix them to both sides of the partition wall using Titan Screw.

We proceed to the installation of the window. We place the window in the opening and fix it in place using small blocks of plasterboard or any other materials at hand. In our previous blog article and video on the topic we mentioned that the opening in the wall should be 2 cm wider than the window itself. We leave this extra space for leveling and sealing of the window. We then proceed to fill the empty spaces between the opening and the window with PU foam.
